On the heels of a bombshell report in the New York Times accusing GLAAD president and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis of lavish spending practices and lack of accountability, LGBAUSA quietly announces it has become a foundation and “registered 501(c)(3) non-profit.”
Well, not exactly. For months LGBAUSA has been quietly making some changes into how they present themselves to the gender-critical public. Earlier this year, Jos Grover filed paperwork in the state she lives in to turn the org into a foundation, and with it, make herself “executive director” of LGBAUSA.
After changing their logo in July,, the org quietly announced thru its website, it is now “a registered 501 (c)(3) non profit.”
They also set up a donation page via Zeffy.com.
So then, what does this all mean?
I’m not sure yet. Had I subscribers, everyone would agree that I’ve been rather contrarian about LGBAUSA, and for justifiable reasons.
The US gender critical movement has suffered losses, losses that cannot be forgotten or glossed over any time soon if it all.
To be fair, this is not another rant against LGBAUSA. Personally, it’s about goddamn fucking time. Whatever deal Jos and others made with LGB Alliance UK originally hurt our community in that lgbausa has been unable to establish itself as the vanguard of the US-led anti-transgenderism movement.
The org has been a massive clusterfuck since Day One and continues to be one with it’s horrendous new logo, and “no chapters” policy.
Add now to it, their ill-timed decision to become a foundation and 501(c)(3).
So what now? Has LGBAUSA realized, at long last this is not a game?
They had a good run, referring to themselves as “100% volunteer-run and lesbian-led.”
But lesbians don’t have a monopoly on “gender-critical” activism. The US gender-critical movement has suffered losses, losses that cannot be forgotten or glossed over.
Losses that they created by way of their cowardice, double standards, hypocrisy, ego, dysfunction, etc.
At present, I’ve not been able to ascertain how much money they earned or collected from their Zeffy page. For the time being, I’m going to assume it’s not in the millions of dollars and not enough for Grover to enjoy a life of luxury on ‘our donations.”
Not yet.
To be fair, I have to disclose that I run two LGB Alliance groups, LGB Alliance New York City and LGB Alliance Puerto Rico and that I hope one day to set up donation pages so that I, at minimum, can better serve the gender-critical community.
That can’t be done thru an out-of-date chromebook and “free to read” Substack account.
